Diving record in Maldives

Maldives set its diving record with the largest number of divers on 26th February 2006. A total of 989 participants joined this event from all over the world. The event took place in a diving spot called "Sunlight Thila".

Maldives set the record breaking 722 divers record in Thailand February 2005.

The diving location was 200m long and 35ms wide. The location was a small reef in South East North Male Atoll.

World's First Under Water Restaurant.

The world's First Underwater Restaurant is constructed in "Rangali" Resort and Spa in Maldives. It offers a 270 degree view in open sea.

It was opened on 15th April 2005 with a capacity of 14 people.

The restaurant was constructed in Singapore and shipped to Maldives. It was sunk and placed on 19th November 2004 on its location.
